The Senate Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges met here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Senator Professor Muhammad Saeed Siddiqui to consider the proposed amendments in the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 1988.

The committee, in its Thursday's meeting deliberated in detail on various amendments proposed in the Rules of Procedure of the Senate and unanimously made some amendments for incorporation in the existing rules.

The amendments were proposed by Senators Chaudhry Muhammad Anwar Bhinder, Mian Raza Rabbani, Professor Khursheed Ahmed and Farhatullah Babar.

The chairman of the committee Senator Professor Saeed Siddiqui lauded the contribution made by the members in further improving the Rules of Procedure. He said that it had become necessary and expedient that the rules be reviewed, revised and updated to ensure smooth working of the Senate.
